Without darkness, what is Light?...
Humans have always been entranced by light and shadows. They play on our eyes during the day, and with our minds at night.
We took these Goop-worthy shots using a standard 8MP camera.
Enjoy!
A play on Gel and Light. Try this at home with a lamp, plastic lid, and aloe jelly.
Steam from a vent. We tried it in a lab with liquid nitrogen. First you pour it on the ground, and
watch the dust bunnies hop away. Satisfying.
Sand Dunes formed of chalk powders. Do you see the sand angel? It's all thumbs today.
No doubt, the background of every 1970's Sub-Sahara movie.
Interaction of a middle frequency sub-sound with grains of sand.
By increasing the noise and contrast, we come across this beauty.
(All in real color)
By "softening" tolerance of data points, we pick up a brighter, more "smooth" picture
like this.
Seismograph from the very footsteps in the room. You can see where we tripped over the wire.
It looks like we register a .08 on the Richter scale.
Black and White always looks so nice.
and then let there be COLOR!
First off, we have an odd chemical reaction going on. The green is, basic, and the blue, is slightly acidic. These are light-sensitive chemicals that change acidity when probed with light.
The last is the prodigal Three Doorways + Prism.
All photos were taken in the Academy of Science in San Francisco, CA.
We only put up the best!
